Who it suits

Which Lightspeed?

Lightspeed sells more than one restaurant POS, and the names trip people up. K Series is the line that came from iKentoo and is sold across Europe, North America and Australia. L Series and O Series are separate products, O Series being what used to be Upserve. They have different APIs and different access rules. This page is about K Series, because Lightspeed’s K Series developer documentation is public enough to read and describe. We could not verify API access for L Series or O Series, so they are listed as not covered rather than guessed at.

The access rule that shapes everything

Lightspeed’s K Series developer portal says access to the APIs is reserved for Lightspeed partners and approved merchants, and that anyone else should apply to become a partner. Lightspeed’s partners page offers a form for exactly that. There is no self-serve developer account.

So a Tuckly connection has a prerequisite that is not technical: Lightspeed would need to accept Tuckly into its partner programme. We have not applied, which is why the status is contact us. We would apply when enough Lightspeed restaurants ask, and the contact page is how to add your voice.

What the API covers

Lightspeed’s K Series API reference, which showed a late October 2026 update when we checked, documents an Order and Pay section that includes creating local and to-go orders, with menus, modifiers and discounts. It also covers items, retrieving sales, receipts, webhooks, staff and reservations. For an ordering site, four of those matter: orders, menus and items, and webhooks.

What the connection would do

Orders in. A to-go or delivery order from your Tuckly site would be created in K Series, so it prints in the kitchen and appears in Lightspeed’s sales without anyone retyping it at the terminal.

Menu out. Items, menus and modifiers from K Series would populate the ordering site, keeping names and prices identical on both sides.

Availability. Marking an item unavailable in the POS should hide it on the site. How K Series represents that is something we would confirm during a build rather than assert now, which is why that capability is marked pending validation.

Status back. K Series webhooks would tell Tuckly when an order is accepted or completed, so delivery and pickup orders move along without a manual update.

Payments would stay with your gateway. Lightspeed would record the sale; it would not process the online payment.

Countries

A Lightspeed announcement from 2023 listed Lightspeed Restaurant as available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany and Australia. Ireland did not appear in the sources we checked, so it is left off this page rather than assumed. Availability changes, so confirm your country with Lightspeed directly.

Today, without the integration

Nothing about taking direct orders depends on Lightspeed. Orders arrive on the Tuckly order screen and staff enter them into K Series by hand, the same as a phone order. For many restaurants that is fine for months. The integration is for the point where re-entry during service starts producing mistakes, and that is also the point where a group of Lightspeed restaurants asking for it would move it up our list.

Lightspeed Restaurant (K Series) questions

Which Lightspeed product is K Series?

Lightspeed Restaurant K Series is the product line that came from iKentoo. Lightspeed also sells L Series and O Series restaurant products, the latter from its Upserve acquisition. This page is about K Series only, because that is the API whose documentation we could read.

Why can Tuckly not just use the API?

Lightspeed's developer portal states that access to the K Series APIs is reserved for Lightspeed partners and approved merchants, and invites others to apply to become partners. There is no open developer account of the kind Square offers.

What does the K Series API cover?

Lightspeed's API reference, last updated in late October 2026 when we checked, documents an Order and Pay section with creating local and to-go orders, menus, modifiers and discounts, plus items, sales retrieval, receipts, webhooks, staff and reservations. An ordering integration would use orders, menus, items and webhooks.

Where is Lightspeed Restaurant available?

A Lightspeed announcement in 2023 listed the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany and Australia. Check with Lightspeed for the current list.

Can I use Tuckly with Lightspeed today?

Yes, by entering direct orders into Lightspeed from the Tuckly order screen. The online ordering system does not depend on a POS link. To register interest in the integration, use the contact page.
